Higgins was the key author in placing the analysis within the context of current research with journalism studies on objectivity in news and witnessing. As well as contributing to the analysis of the texts and the articulation of the textual analysis with debates in the discipline, Higgins was lead author in the opening sections on war and the scrutiny of journalism and the context of the BBC, and the concluding sections on the significance of the findings for contextual objectivity and witnessing.
