Additional information

<27>CARMEN is a widely used technology for sharing data and software, its leading technology arising from a major project. This paper describes the specification and management of metadata within a software and data repository for neuroscience, a key component of the system. The work is the output of one of UKs main eScience pilot projects – and lead to significant follow on funding with BBSRC and HEFCE. CARMEN now supports over 350 international neuroscience users and is commercialized for use in condition monitoring of large assets by Cybula Ltd. (verifiable by Mr John McAvoy, business director, mcavoy@cybula.com).
