Additional information

This work resulted from an RFCS funded project that was coordinated by Tata Steel (UK) with Arcelor Mital (Spain), MEFOS (Sweeden) and BFI (Germany). It directly fed into further work funded by the RFCS coordinated by Wilcox on behalf of four different partners and resulted in a demonstration of burner monitoring technology on the Dolna Oldra power station in Poland. This paper presented work that reported on the monitoring of multiple industrial scale burners on a commercial plant demonstrating that individual monitoring of burners is necessary to be able to detect differences between burners nominally firing at the same rate.
