Additional information

The research presents a novel way of estimating the weight of the waterfront retaining wall that would be required to maintain its stability under seismic conditions. Simple-easy-to-use equations suggesting a direct relationship between the required weights of the waterfront retaining wall under static and seismic conditions is provided. Results from this methodology can be very useful in carrying out the performance based design of waterfront retaining structures, and can be a very valuable resource while developing a fully-fledged EPSRC project.
