<29> This paper introduced a virtual simulator for off-site manufacturing based on actual data. The system was endorsed, validated and tested by domain experts to help maximise authenticity. The system was used by the industry partners (CIRIA, Corus, Taylor Woodrow Construction, Contact: Mrs A Barbezieux, Communications Manager, press@ciria.org). This research has been supported by the European Commission under the integrated FP6 project MANUBUILD: Open Building Manufacturing (Project No.: NMP-2003-3.4.4.1, €10m). The project was industry led (Corus Group UK) and was endorsed by the European Network of Construction Companies for Research and Development (ENCORD1) and it was in line with the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP2) research agenda.
