Based on unique evidence from 27 European countries, this paper explores the role of geography higher education fieldwork in the development of key skills from the perspectives of students and academic staff. The findings of this research contribute to policy-based and wider discussion about the need for increasing student employability in the light of the Bologna Declaration.
