Additional information

A set of integrated tools “Sustain Design” that enable design engineers to develop sustainable electrical/electronic consumer products have been developed. The system provides design engineers with the relevant knowledge and tools within a flexible and stimulating environment that bridges the gap between sustainability and design. It takes into consideration a set of interrelated aspects such as design for environment, design process optimisation, materials used, production, energy saving techniques and end of life analysis. Overcoming the limitations of the existing sustainable design models by providing a holistic approach for sustainable product development with the consideration of environmental, economical and social issues.
