Additional information

This paper is the first systematic attempt to validate and improve a typical long term energy balance model. The paper contributes significantly to the understanding of the battery and regulator operation within the system and incorporation in the model.

The model has been validated using an experimental stand-alone system and its main application is that it can be applied for PV system sizing.
