Double-weighted statement

This 342-page monograph was developed from Dr Birkett's doctoral thesis and represents the main product of her research over the period 2004-2009. The book provides the first in-depth analysis of all four extant works by Jocelin of Furness. It combines historical and literary approaches to examine the written and oral sources behind each work, the method of composition, and the context in which each text was written. It is based on detailed primary research, including manuscript evidence, and extensive reading.
