This paper presents a methodology for the reliability analysis of existing timber structures, combining expert judgement with direct measurements on mechanical properties and structural dimensions of historical timber structures. This novel approach to the assessment of existing timber structures allows a more consistent evaluation of the need to repair or replace structures with significant historical value.
