Additional information

The Tri-SWACH is a novel ship hull form combining features of a SWATH and a Trimaran, and is attracting keen interest from the US navy because of improved sea-keeping. The paper presents results from initial design studies from naval architecture and marine engineering perspectives. This work was funded by the US Office of Naval Research, as part of the ACCeSS project grant (Ref N00014-07-1-0652). The authors were invited to submit this paper by the American Society of Naval Engineers a result of their presentation at the FAST 2011 conference, the world's leading technical conference addressing fast sea transportation issues.
