Additional information
This is the first study of the use of fly ashes for high-temperature (450 and 700°C) CO2 capture. This work using waste materials to develop novel carbon capture agents was cited amongst the reasons to award Prof Maroto-Valer the 2009 Philip Leverhulme Prize in energy engineering (http://www.leverhulme.ac.uk/news/archive/PLP.cfm). It has also resulted in Prof Maroto-Valer receiving the 2013 William Mong Distinguished Lecture from the University of Hong-Kong (http://engg.hku.hk/mong/DL1a.htm ).
