Additional information

<17> Understanding how users interact with search engine results and what biases they have when doing so can inform improvement of the ranking and presentation of search results. It can also have an impact on the presentation and ranking of sponsored results. This paper shows that when the top-10 results are reordered in various ways, users prefer the original results only slightly. The paper is part of ongoing research carried out by Levene in collaboration with Bar-Ilan on comparison of search engines and analysis of search engine results.
