Additional information

Catalyst stability was demonstrated and a simplified kinetic model for the partial oxidation of methane over a structured catalyst was elaborated to make all information for a rational reactor design available. Even without bilateral industrial collaboration, the remarkable coking resistance let to industrial interest by Evonik Industries (Germany, Dr. Jürgen Lang) and Total (France, Dr. Francis Luck, Research Manager, Catalysis & Process Engineering TOTAL S.A. Direction Scientifique). Support by these companies promoted an EU project bid (BioGO-for-production), currently in second stage evaluation, for further development towards a new combined processing scheme for bio-gas and pyrolysis oil.
