Additional information

Ice slurries are often used on an industrial scale and so small percentage energy savings in the generation of the slurry can have significant financial returns. However, its use in cleaning of pipe work through pigging (pumping an ice slurry through) has had limited investigation. The work in the paper was carried out with the aim of reducing the cost of ice pigging, and this paper has resulted in savings of nearly 20%.
