Additional information

This multi-disciplinary study was commissioned by the Legal Services Board, the oversight regulator for the legal professions in England and Wales. Over seventy interviews were undertaken with legal professionals drawn from across the country so as to investigate career choices and barriers experienced by BME and female lawyers. The findings contributed to the introduction of compulsory diversity monitoring and notification across the legal profession aimed at addressing barriers to entry and promotion in the professions. It forms the basis of one of our three impact case studies.
