This article was presented during the 7th ADERSE Annual Conference (La Rochelle, France, March 2010), where it was awarded the Emerald Best Paper Award for its contribution to the field of Corporate Social Responsibility and Human Rights. The Emerald Award Committee selected the paper (from among over 80 submissions in the field), for its originality in exploring the dynamic interplay between soft and hard normative approaches to CSR and Human Rights within the European context. The Award consisted of a financial dimension as well as of the offer of publication in the Society and Business Review.
