Additional information

This paper provides a new engineering tool for assessing adsorptive hydrogen storage solutions in sustainable energy systems. It is based on an original model for the pressure and temperature dependence of hydrogen adsorption, and is a major improvement on current methods using simple, single-point uptake measurements. The paper followed an oral presentation at the 6th International Workshop on the Characterization of Porous Materials, Delray Beach, FL, USA. It also supported the award of the 2013 SET for Britain Westminster Medal (overall winner) to one of its authors, V Ting, for her presentation Engineering Nanomaterial Systems for Storage of Solid-like Hydrogen.
