Additional information

This paper is based on CITB/Construction Skills funded project (£76,000). This has established a new area to explore ‘dynamic’ use of images not done before. The research resulted in a new section titled ‘Critical Safety Communication’ in Construction Skills GE700 ISBN 9781857513370. This is used by 100,000+ construction professionals in standard industry training cited by HSE in legal guidance. Since publication, the percentage of migrant workers killed or injured has reduced from 16% to 4%. It is reasonable to conclude this work has had an influencing effect due to the numbers exposed to the training materials resulting from the publication.
