EU Law and Obesity Prevention
This book is the result of five years’ intensive work. Debates regarding the relationship between law and non-communicable diseases are in their infancy even at national level. Analysing the role of EU law in promoting healthier diets/more active lifestyles required the author to develop an entirely novel approach to the subject. Obesity prevention studies are inherently multi-disciplinary, requiring the author to draw upon multiple EU policy studies and assess them through the lens of public health objectives. Furthermore, the book places the myriad practical questions raised by obesity prevention into a new theoretical framework based on key EU constitutional principles.
