Double-weighted statement

This book is the result of five years of intensive research (four years of doctoral studies and another year of further refinement). It includes a comparison of seven European jurisdictions, thus requiring significant background research into different systems of law. The analysis spanned a range of legal areas, thus requiring in-depth understanding of relevant aspects of constitutional, human rights, tort, insurance, family, comparative and European Union law. Also, the analytical framework and inter-disciplinary approach demanded wide reading and analysis beyond the legal discipline, including in the fields of sociology, psychology, child and feminist studies.
