Additional information

Developed by Siores. Patented internationally microwave radiometry (MR) for passive sub-tissue temperature. Won 2011 Technological Innovation award. Siores is the only engineer in the co-authored work. His PhD student performed clinical trials using MR and collaborating medical colleagues aided preparation and post trials. Passive, non-invasive MR with high resolution and repeatability can be used for indirectly assessing carotid percentage stenoma, expressed in percentage blockage from cholesterol. Potential for early stroke diagnosis using this self evaluation technique. Breakthrough work received extensive international publicity and recently extended to diagnosis of rheumatoid(RA) or osteo(OA) arthritis and as an objective tool for subclinical synovitis.
