Additional information

This was the first work to show the potential of using multiphysics optimisation to exploit the design freedoms of Additive Manufacturing (AM). This has led to multi-physics optimisation for AM being a core research theme within the £6M EPSRC Centre for Additive Manufacturing. This work has also led to invitations to join as partners on successfully funded TSB / Industry projects (HITEA2 "ASID" project (£180K)- steve.dilworth@baesystems.com;  HITEA2 "ALMER" project (£200K) - contact Paul.Williams2@Rolls.Royce.com; BAE Systems private project (£180K) - David.Philpot2@baesystems.com)
