Additional information

Inaccuracies in finite viscoelastic constitutive model implemented in ABAQUS Finite Element Analysis version 6.8 are identified and rectified. ABAQUS results are shown to be inconsistent with thermomechanically-based quasi-linear viscoelastic constitutive equation. In ABAQUS version 6.9, constitutive equation for finite viscoelasticity was changed and problems described in paper were addressed. Contacts with ABAQUS software house were carried out by authors through one of their major industrial customers [contact: Account Executive, Bridgestone Tyre Company]. Work contributed to Ciambella's appointment to Bristol as Lecturer in 2012.
