Additional information

Cognitive radios make use of unused portions of the radio-frequency spectrum, thereby supporting new wireless services to users within congested and valuable spectrum. Video is extremely popular with modern consumer but also especially challenging for cognitive radio technology. Paper was one of first to take cross-layer approach to challenges of transmitting video over cognitive radio networks. Paper was core part of research work of first-author Bocus, a PhD student fully-funded by Toshiba Telecommunications Europe Ltd. [contact: Deputy Managing Director]. Bocus was immediately employed by Toshiba upon completion of PhD.
