The paper describes a new theoretical technique in the field of fuzzy logic exemplified by document categorization in Civil Engineering. It highlights a novel technique to remove ambiguity using a new alternative fuzzy clustering based approach for categorizing nomenclature and semantics. It is collaborative work between Birmingham, Salford and Cardiff universities. The work was initiated as part of EPSRC and EU projects led by Prof. Rezgui at Cardiff and Oussalah was asked to participate because of his expertise in this area. The outcome of the paper was used in an EU project led by Prof. Rezgui.
