Analytical closed-form solution for transient analysis of boost DC-DC converters
This paper describes an entirely new analytical technique for the performance analysis of switching power converters, based on integral transformations, which enables more accurate converter design. The technique now features in a university textbook. The paper represents a key factor in bringing Dr Tricoli to Birmingham from the University of Naples, where work was undertaken through a grant on active filters awarded by the Italian Research Council. The methodology described in the paper has been extended for a generic converter and has been shown to be beneficial in transient analyses, often neglected due to the complexity of handling the equations.
