Additional information

The electricity market problem is an equilibrium problem with equilibrium constraints, (EPEC), and has been solved with a DC network model with limitation. In this paper, a method is presented for the first time, for forming and solving the EPEC of an AC network and associated power grid controls, including reactive power/voltage control and transformer tap-ratio control. This work has significant importance to power generating companies, electricity market operators and traders. AGP was sponsored by EPSRC DTA and contributed to a book in the IEEE Power Engineering Series. The work is being pursued with a major international power company.
