Themistius, Julian and Greek political theory under Rome : texts, translations and studies of four key works

The monograph of 230 pages is a fully interdisciplinary work which presents an original selection of complex primary sources in Greek and Arabic (the latter in new or corrected editions), together with translations into English, and contains studies based on these and other texts as part of the presentation of new arguments about the development of political theory in the later Roman empire. A considerable body of work is analysed and there is specific commentary on the Arabic reception of the texts surviving in Arabic.
