A substantially expanded version of an IGARSS2008 paper (which is not returned) that triggered a lot of interest in the remote sensing community because the paper proposes a different approach to multi-resolution registration that solves interpolation issues. The algorithms developed in this work form part of the widely used Open Source Remote Sensing and GIS software Library (RSGISLib); a particular significant application is to register imagery and radar data for the whole of Australia at 30m resolution (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0098300413002288).
