Additional information

<26>In spite of numerous advantages, ray-tracing is typically considered too slow to visualise data at interactive frame rates. This work is one of the first papers that achieve interactive ray-tracing of volumetric data set without memory-costing stacks unlike conventional ray-tracing. It is considered as the representative work in raytracing isosurfaces (IEEE Trans. Vis. & Comp. Graph., 18(12):2285-2294, 2012) and has become a standard benchmark which the newer works of other groups are being compared against (e.g., Computer Graphics Forum 29:963–972 and 29:1231–1240, 2010).
