Additional information

<25>Computational physiology is about patient-specific computer models. It is becoming increasingly important – e.g. for personalised/predictive healthcare. The Virtual Physiological Human is a core target of the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme. A recent special issue is dedicated to this topic in the most prestigious medical imaging journal (IEEE TMI). Our work was mentioned by the guest editors as we proposed an effective method to finely tune the parameters of such models, hence significantly improve their accuracy. Part of this work has been used in a successful follow on FP7 CIG grant proposal (fly4pet) that partly funds Dr Vidal’s lectureship.
