The paper presents two new processes for producing microbubbles. The resulting bubbles are highly monodisperse in size, making them suitable for the drug delivery. The work led to patent application (PCT/GB2008/001050), and the processes have been adopted by other groups nationally and internationally (e.g. Cui & Campbell in Dundee, doi: 10.1109/ULTSYM.2008.0406; Filho et. al. in Brazil, doi:10.1186/1475-925X-11-71).
