Additional information

This work reports and compares the high temperature behaviour and response under load in fire of two thermoset matrix composites and a thermoplastic matrix one. Properties are measured up to 400°C, well beyond the range previously reported. A combined material and thermal modelling approach was used to successfully predict the time to failure under a range of tensile and compressive loads in fire, extending the approach reported in 2010 [Gibson4] to consider thermoset as well as thermoplastic composites.
