This is the first paper to report on a fundamental quantitative study into the micromixing of thin film flow on a rotating disc. Prior to this work, we could only speculate about the improved micromixing intensity to explain the enhancements in reaction rates and selectivities observed in many industrially relevant processes but this comprehensive study now provides solid evidence for our hypothesis.
