Additional information

This paper was the first to introduce plucking excitation as a way of designing highly efficient piezoelectric energy harvesters wearable by humans. Also for the first time, a coupled electro-mechanical FE model is developed for this type of excitation, and validated experimentally. The paper was selected as one of the Highlights of 2011 by the Smart Materials and Structures journal.
