Additional information

This paper builds on previous work [Pozzi2] to present and characterise the world’s first wearable knee-joint piezoelectric energy harvester. The device was tested in a unique knee-joint simulator, driven by original kinematic data for a walking human carrying a range of backpack loads, and demonstrates that useful amounts of energy can be harvested.
