Additional information

In this paper the toxicity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs; the most widely used commercial nanoparticle) is evaluated using sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus larvae as a model system. The research showed, for the first time, that the toxicity of AgNPs is predominantly from the AgNPs themselves and not predominantly from Ag+ ions leaching from the AgNPs.
