Additional information

The paper proposed a new computational methodology for jet noise modelling based on a combination of high-resolution simulations and analytical modelling. The results of the paper helped to secure circa £1million funding from EPSRC for "Flap Noise" (EP/I017747/1) and the "Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics of Complex Geometry Hot Jets” (EP/I017771/1). This work also lead to the prestigious Royal Society International Kavli Seminar award to Dr Karabasov for organising a workshop devoted to the frontiers of computational flow modelling from jet noise to environmental flows (2010).
