Presents a model of the dynamic motion of a cod end of a fishing trawl, using a complex harmonic balance method. Provides a method of analysing the deformation of the diamond mesh of trawl nets during surge motion of the vessel in waves. This motion has been found to be responsible for cod end motions resulting in fish escape and reduced catch.
