Significance of output:

In this article the orbital dynamics of high area-to-mass ratio spacecraft is exploited to define a new family of non-Keplerian orbits which enable enhanced coverage of selected Earth regions to open new paradigms for future space-based telecommunications. The work led to an invited talk at the XVI Brazilian Coloquium on Orbital Dynamics in Brazil in November 2012 (Dr. Cristiano Fiorilo: cristiano.fiorilo@ufabc.edu.br). The dynamics presented was exploited for proposing a deorbiting strategy of future Galileo spacecraft as part of an ESA contract Disposal strategies analysis for MEO orbits (150 K€ euro, technical officer Dr. Klaus Merz, Klaus.Merz@esa.int).
