Additional information

Biogas manufacturing installations are growing exponentially. Biogas (2/3rd CH4, 1/3rd CO2) is a difficult fuel to use in engines, although it offers low emissions of nitrogen oxides. This paper addresses for the first time in detail a reforming process that utilises CO2 and CH4 to produce cleaner and higher energy content fuels in the form of hydrogen-rich gases. Our reforming process improves the combustion of widely available biogas. This research has been conducted in collaboration with Johnson Matthey (Andy York, Principal Scientist; ayork@matthey.com).
