Additional information

<11> Computational areas such as trust management and verifying security policies deal with speakers' credibility or ethos. The paper proposes an alternative to standard logical models allowing for non-inferential ethotic techniques. As a result, the Argument Interchange Format initiative for standardised argument resource exchange now handles trust associated with communicative acts. Presented at invited talks in Poland, Portugal and the Ukraine, this work is a key part of the habilitation thesis “Structure of Persuasive Communication” funded by the Polish Ministry (NN101009338; £6k) and a special issue on the Polish School of Argumentation (to be published in Argumentation, Springer, 2014).
