Additional information

<19>The main contribution of this work is its novel application of the z-transform for fragile watermarking. This is the first time that the z-transform has been used for content authentication of digital images by exploiting the sensitivity of the zero locations. This new fragile watermarking technique could localize the portions of a watermarked image that have been tampered with high accuracy. One further advantage was in its improved security as compared to other existing least-significant bits-based fragile watermarking techniques.
