Additional information

<08> The paper extends existing meta-object protocols by relaxing constraints on user intercession: allowing the programmer to specify her or his own rules for method applicability, without destroying the possibility of efficient execution. The new protocol introduced in the paper was implemented in two distinct Lisp systems: Skill++ and SBCL. These Lisp systems, including the protocol described in the paper, are in commercial use: Skill++ forms part of Cadence Systems' Custom IC Design product; SBCL is the platform for the backend of Google's airfare search (acquired via ITA Software for $700M in 2011).
