Additional information

<17> Published in an influential journals for audio analysis (h-index 47) This paper describes a new approach to supervised classification called feature generation. The audio signal analysis community is progressively accepting the idea, which was considered almost heretical initially. The invention led to a core patent by the author (US 20040181401 A1 granted in 2009), as well as a series of extension patents. It is now used for critical applications (e.g. control of production processes) within Sony. Another application led to a major improvement of the "12-tone analysis" software library used in Sony consumer electronic products (PlayStation 3, Xperia).
