Additional information

This is one of a sequence of papers by the authors on the theme of simple, robust, high-performance rectifiers that are suitable for operation on the variable frequency systems of modern aircraft. The programme of work was sponsored by Goodrich and in this paper a hybrid harmonic injection technique is proposed and demonstrated which results in 36-pulse rectifier performance from a 12-pulse rectifier circuit. However, the circuit is much simpler and lighter than a standard 36-pulse rectifier. The work has led to other hybrid rectifier techniques which offer superior performance, such as DOI 10.1109/TIE.2012.2205358.
