Additional information

This paper completes a set of papers developing techniques to extract/organise knowledge-rich cases from healthcare reports about elderly/disabled people suggesting SmartHouse solutions. This paper’s novel contribution is embedding Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) to organize extracted concepts for effective case retrieval in a SMART decision-support tool. Significance is demonstrated by SMART’s decisions achieving higher precision/recall than two Lucene-based competitors. Wider applicability of the FCA-based SMART approach was demonstrated subsequently for helicopter incident reports [Asiimwe’s PhD Thesis http://hdl.handle.net/10059/377]. It is now also used to learn structured adaptation cases from text for the Taaable system (www.taaable.fr) by INRIA’s LORIA lab (www.loria.fr) [doi: 10.1007/978-3-642-14274-1_9].
