Additional information

The paper contributes to the understanding of magnetic nano-structures. Obstacles in utilising polycrystalline Heusler-alloy films as a 100% spin-polarised source are solved, work is in collaboration with Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, PRESTO Japan Science and Technology Agency and Physics at York. Following from this paper Seagate (marcus.ormston@seagate.com) and Toshiba (yoshiaki.saito@toshiba.co.jp) are collaborating with us to implement these films into magnetic recording heads and sensors.
