An internationally major scientific contribution in the field, this paper demonstrates energy, policy and economic analyses for the successful implementation of integrated gasification and carbon capture technologies. Dr Sadhukhan and Dr Ng received the IChemE Junior Moulton Medal, 2011. IChemE publishes ~2100 papers every year and this esteemed award was last given in 2007. Energy optimisation to maximise efficiency is a critically important aspect for polygeneration, being developed to meet sustainable energy and sustainable materials targets for policy and industry, globally. The work further attracted fully funded PhD studentship by industries and Manchester Alumni for Mr Ng.
